The 4th edition of the workshop Photonics for Health, Atmosphere, Safety and Education (PHASE 2023) was held recently during 30-31 Mar 2023. The workshop was organized as part of the Distinguished International Associate (DIA) award of the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK. There were 17 invited speakers, a poster session for research scholars, laboratory visits and hands-on sessions.

We attended FLAIR 2022, Aix Les Bains, France and demonstrated remote operation of our automated TDLAS-based water vapour monitoring system that was operating back in our lab. We had some useful discussions with Prof Greg Rieker and Dr Lukas Emmenegger.

ISRO approves our new project as part of the Human Space Flight programme

Delighted that our project titled "Ultra-high sensitivity tunable laser-based spectroscopic gas detection system for the Human Spaceflight Programme" has been approved by ISRO as part of their RESPOND framework. The work will be carried out in partnership with the Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad. The target will be to jointly develop India's first space-borne TDLAS system.
